The Institute of Family & Community Impact: Who We Are
The Institute of Family & Community Impact (IFCI) is an initiative of OhioGuidestone, Ohio’s largest social services agency. Together, we focus on improving the lives of children, adults, and families and empowering them to build nurturing, healthy, and resilient communities.
For more than 150 years, OhioGuidestone has helped generations of people and families. When our clients reach happiness, they do it by improving their situations to become educated, self-reliant, and committed members of strong communities. Above all, OhioGuidestone provides paths for growth, achievement, and lifelong success. We therefore offer counseling, parenting classes, workforce skill development, foster care, and mental health and addiction recovery.

What We Do
We created the Institute of Family & Community Impact because of our mission and vision for stronger families and communities. Through IFCI, we build bridges between our boots-on-the-ground agency and the many different shareholders impacted by our work. Our initiatives include:
 Conducting original research within the unique framework of a nonprofit agency providing direct services. |
 Developing clinical innovations to best serve client needs and advance mental health care in a variety of settings. |
 Offering trainings for clinicians, schools, and caregivers in best practices that promote health and resiliency. |
 Publishing products that give the best clinical tools to those in mental health and share our vision with the world. |
 Advocating policies for and with the people we serve and pushing for action consistent with our mission. |
 Translating science for the public and helping further knowledge among clinicians, researchers, and policymakers. |
In addition, we validate and implement tools and models through our highly trained OhioGuidestone staff. We also partner with national and local organizations that do similar work and strive toward similar goals as ours. We are, in short, a hub connecting together a wide variety of initiatives for building stronger families and communities.
