Why Do We We Research?

In the behavioral health field, conducting clinical research is crucial for comprehending the most efficient treatments, interventions, and methods for individuals with serious mental illnesses and various needs. OhioGuidestone recognizes the significance of research in our work, and we have made it a priority to integrate it into our services via our Institute of Family & Community Impact.

By employing evidence-based practices supported by our unique center of excellence, we guarantee that our programs and interventions are rooted in the latest and best available behavioral health research in the field.

Through our clinical research efforts, we aim to gain a deeper understanding of the challenges and joys that our families and communities encounter and experience. We then utilize this information to create evidence-based programs, interventions, and innovations that foster positive outcomes tailored to the cultural and linguistic needs of the individuals, families, and communities we support, and even extend beyond.

Researching allows us to translate science to enhance family resiliency and vitality.

Addressing Disparities in Clinical Research

IFCI acknowledges that many communities have been harmed and further marginalized, resulting in these communities being represented as ‘at-risk’ or ‘vulnerable,’, further pushing them to societal margins.

That is why we commit to embracing inclusive, culturally responsive research methods and practices. We center methodologies that are respectful, flexible, and inclusive for the vulnerabilized and minoritized populations in our communities.

At OhioGuidestone, we believe the field must be led through innovation and clinical research as these are key to achieving better outcomes for our clients and our communities.

By staying up to date on the latest data and continually seeking new, innovative and creative solutions, we are better equipped to address the complex challenges that arise in our communities; and by addressing these challenges, we slowly work toward empowering our clients to improve their individual and family vitality.
