The Institute of Family & Community Impact

The Institute of Family & Community Impact, an initiative of OhioGuidestone, believes that by enhancing relationships for children and families, we build stronger and more resilient communities and futures.

Professional Development Opportunities for Father-Serving Practitioners: Helping New Dads Thrive

We’re leading ongoing professional development opportunities for a wide range of practitioners who work with fathers during the perinatal period — from the time they are expecting a baby until the child’s first birthday.

To learn more about these opportunities, please visit the Father’s Feelings professional development page or contact us by emailing ifci@ohioguidestone.org or calling 440-260-8865.

Telehealth Tools for Therapy and Behavioral Health Services

We’ve developed new telehealth tools to assist clinicians and other mental health specialists providing remote services during the COVID-19 crisis. These include a free phone tool for behavioral health providers and manuals of CBT interventions for therapists, which are on sale and available for direct download now!

You can purchase the manuals in our online shop.

Joyful Together

Joyful Together®

Joyful Together® is a play-based model that we’ve developed to help strengthen relationships between children and their caregivers.

Joy at Home: Activities for Families

With social distancing the norm and schools shut down due to COVID-19, we wanted to provide caretakers with simple, fun, everyday activities. These Joyful Together® activities infuse joy into everyday interactions between caretakers and children. We also wanted to highlight some Joyful activities specifically for dads. So we’re celebrating #JoyAtHomeWithDad Week and asking dads to share their joy!

Like and follow us on Facebook and Twitter to see all the Joyful activities as we share them!

Father’s Feelings Study

This study gives dads with children 12 months old or younger an opportunity to share their thoughts and feelings about their babies and their lives as parents.

Currently, all our studies are being conducted virtually. We do this through videoconferencing for each study visit and online forms available through our Research Portal.

Internship Opportunity!

We’re looking for Institute Scholar Assistants. Come join us today!
